PRIVACY POLICY

1. Who is responsible

This website is operated by Avaz Rahim, an independent artist based in Uzbekistan. The data controller for this site is Avaz Rahim, contactable at contact@avazrahim.com.

2. What data is collected

Two analytics tools operate on this site, with different privacy characteristics:

  • Umami Analytics (always active) — a cookieless, privacy-first analytics service. It collects anonymized page views, referrers, device type, country, and browser version. IP addresses are not stored. No personal data is collected. No consent is legally required because no information is stored on your device.
  • Microsoft Clarity (only after consent) — a behavioral analytics tool that records anonymized session replays, heatmaps, and scroll depth. It sets cookies (_clck, _clsk, CLID, MUID) and may share an identifier with the Microsoft advertising ecosystem. It is loaded only after you click ACCEPT in the consent banner.

3. Legal basis

Umami operates on the basis of legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), since it processes no personal data. Microsoft Clarity operates on the basis of your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you provide by clicking ACCEPT.

4. Cookies and local storage

This site uses localStorage on your device to remember your consent choice (key: clarity-consent). This is a strictly necessary mechanism — without it, your choice could not be honoured on subsequent visits.

Microsoft Clarity cookies are set only after you accept. If you decline, no cookies are set by this site or by any third party we load.

5. How long data is kept

  • Your consent preference is stored locally until you withdraw it or clear your browser.
  • Umami analytics data is retained for up to 6 months (or indefinitely if self-hosted; not the case here).
  • Microsoft Clarity session recordings are retained for up to 30 days by default, or up to 13 months if favourited for review.

6. Third parties

When you consent, the following third parties process data:

Data may be transferred outside the EEA. Microsoft and Vercel rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR (if you are in the EU/EEA) and similar laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw your consent at any time — use the button below
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any right, email contact@avazrahim.com. We respond within 30 days.

8. Withdraw consent

You can change or withdraw your cookie preference at any time. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent: one click, no forms, no questions.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes materially, the consent banner will reset and ask for your choice again. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version.
